Barcelona, Be Ready

Barcelona
Last week I booked the first week of June off from work but I didn’t know what I was going to do on my week off. Having asked a few people what they would do with a week off the topic of traveling came up a lot. With the idea of looking for a cheap getaway I decided to check out the prices on Ryan air and found a return flight for £15!!! That was it i knew that I would be going to Barcelona.
The scary thing was is that I have never been on a holiday on my own, I’ve been told that the best holidays on your own are where you stay at hostels. That way you instantly meet like minded people/cool/interesting people. It was then that I was referred to Hostel World as they have many hostels in their database with reviews. Despite the great reviews I still had crazy butterflies in my stomach whilst making my booking.
Some initial research into backpack traveling shows that the amount of fun one has is directly relational to the amount of stuff you need to carry. That is why im only going to travel with a backpack which I do not need to check in at the airport, I also hate waiting at the baggage reclaim belt. I still need to buy a backpack, but I already have some earplugs and a travel towel.
I still do not know what Im going to do when I get there, thats the beauty of this sponateous trip. Once Im back I will be sure to post some cool pics
New Fishing Licences
by admin on May.10, 2009, under Fishing
Last week my fishing licence expired and I received a renewal pack detailing information on all the fishing lakes in the south east. I seriously did not know there were so many lakes near where I live.
The fishing licences are now in the form of a credit card, this means there is no excuse to leave it at home or lose it.
I will be getting my new licence soon, already for another season of fishing.
My Power Kite
by admin on May.10, 2009, under Makes Me Happy
Last week i won a bid on a 2.5m sports power kite for £20, happy days
Yesterday I took it out on it’s maiden flight at Southgate playing field. Wish it were more windy, when there was a strong gust you could feel the pull of kite, when there was little to no wind it was a very different story. It was dead easy to get the kite to take off, there was no running involved, just lift and it takes off by itself.
Anyway the kite was loads of fun to use, cant wait to take it out on a really windy day.
